CD-ROMs and COPIES OF ARTICLES.

Two bilingual CD-ROMs could help you with your research (as well as with a second language - an extra bonus).

- The bilingual CD-ROM "ACADIANS AND CAJUNS" contains the published articles:

Who Are the Acadians?; A New Life in the Louisiana Wilderness - the Cajuns; Brick Walls and A Search for Canadian Roots. There are superb paintings and illustrations in color of scenes of before, during and after the Deportation of the Acadians of 1755+ on the CD-ROM, which brings life to the historical events those kind people experienced.

- The bilingual CD-ROM "AMERICANS, CANADIANS AND EUROPEANS" contains the following published articles:

Did You Attach your Ancestors to the Wrong Tree Root?; Researching Québec Descendants Who Came to the United States; Finding your Ancestors in France/Europe parts 1 & 2; and Choosing Between Fountains. Marielle won awards for 4 of the 5 articles mentioned in this paragraph. There are illustrations in colors on the CD-ROM.

Each CD-ROM sells for $25.00 US, including mailing cost to the USA and Canada. Add $3.00 US for mailing to other countries. Checks, money orders and Euros are accepted as well as a US dollar payment sent via Western Union www.westernunion.com . There is an order form on the next page.

See below which articles would help you in your searches.

If you have Acadian ancestors, articles 1, 2, 3, 4 and 12 are highly recommended. One does not need to have Acadian roots to appreciate the history and the human experiences of these brave people during the deportation of the Acadians outlined in articles 1 and 2. "Acadia" is today named Nova Scotia, a Canadian province in Eastern Canada.

The name of your migrating ancestor to the USA or to another country might have been changed or transformed in his/ her new country. Order articles 3 and 4.

You have in your search two people with the same name living at about the same time in the same geographic area. Articles 5 and 9 will help you trace your right ancestor.

If your ancestor came to the United States from Canada or lived in Canada I suggest articles 6 and 10.

If you have European ancestors, articles 7 and 8 are suggested for your search.

Did you have early French ancestry (mid 1600's) to the Quebec colony? If so, chances are that you have one (or more) Daughter(s) of the King as an ancestor(s). Article 11 will be valuable to you.

Article 12 deals with two gifted remarkable descendants of Acadian deportees - an architect and a sculptor who were blood related.

The cost of the articles is $6.00 US each, mailing costs included to USA and Canada. Please add $3.00 US for the first item and $2.00 US for each additional item to cover mailing cost to other countries. Checks, money orders and Euros are accepted as well as a US dollar payment sent via Western Union - whose locations can be found at www.westernunion.com
